Challenges of mathematical and numerical modeling of the atmosphere dynamics
Abstract: In this talk we will discuss, from a historical perspective, the evolution of the mathematical modelling of atmosphere dynamics and its application to global weather forecasting and climate simulation. Modern approaches and the challenges of a new generation of models will be presented with examples of the existing open problems on mathematical and numerical aspects.
